Alliance is delighted to publish a new book on
the postal history of the special mail routes of
the American Civil War. One of the Alliance’s
principal goals is to promote research and
education on Civil War philatelic topics, and
this work admirably fulfills that mandate.
This book contains new and
comprehensive information about the most
interesting aspects of Confederate postal
history. It is a useful guide to both the
experienced and beginning collector alike. It
will serve as a necessary companion volume to
the 2010 CSA Catalog, since it provides the
background information and a classification
system that will form the basis for the
across-the-lines postal history listings.
Accordingly, the summary classification sections
at the end of each chapter will be extended with
prices in the CSA Catalog when it is published.
